Bodega Viñas del Vero
Winery Viñas del Vero owes its name to a river in the region of Somontano, the river Vero, famous for its ravines, gorges and canyons.
The winery Viñas del Vero was established in Somontano at the end of 1986 with the acquisition of 550 hectares of land in Barbastro and other nearby towns.
In 1987 the land with vineyards of the traditional varieties of the region (Tempranillo, Moristel, Garnacha and Macabeo) began to be replanted, along with others from different origins (Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir).)
The first wines of the winery appear on the market in the spring of 1990 and are produced in an experimental winery in Salas Bajas. In 1987, the company acquired the “San Marcos " estate for the construction of the new winery, which was inaugurated in July 1993.
In it, the whole process of the elaboration of the vineyards of the Vero is developed, from the selection of the harvest to the ageing and the bottling. In 2008, Viñas del Vero became part of the Family of Wines Gonzalez Byass.
Nowadays, Viñas De Vero is the first winery in the name of Somontano due to its volume and quality of production. The company counts one of the largest areas of vineyards in Spain, and is one of the leading wineries for both its technology and the style of its wines.

This new winery Viñas del Vero is equipped with the most modern wine technology, respecting the natural process in its elaboration and ensuring a perfect control of the environmental and hygiene conditions.
Viñas del Vero was one of the first wineries in Spain to obtain the Certification of Quality based on the International Standard UNE-en-ISO 9002.
The most remarkable feature is its vertical layout, with a gradient of more than 12 meters.
The grapes harvested come to our winery for their highest part, where they are selected.
From then on, the force of gravity, the correct monitoring of every moment of the process and, why not recognize it, the dose of "magic" that always accompanies the creation of great wines are our main allies.
Viñas del Vero does not use pumps or other mechanical procedures that could be aggressive for the transfer of grapes and musts.
