The business was expanded and the first cava labels with the brand Freixenet Casa Sala began to appear. From the very first moment they chose to produce exclusively cava, a natural sparkling wine, following the method used in Champagne (France) since the 18th century. They installed their cavas in Sant Sadurn\u00ed d&#039;anoia (Catalonia), a town located in the heart of the region of Pened\u00e8s. This region was already known since the time of the Roman Empire for the quality of the wines produced there.\n\nIn the twenties and thirties, the impulse of the founders and the assurance of quality of its products had already sought the reputation of the firm. They even started exports aimed at placing it in Spanish-influenced foreign markets and emerging markets at the time.\n\nIn this sense, the first establishment in the United States (New Jersey) dates from 1935. The Spanish Civil War, first, and the Second World War, then, slowed down the development of the company.
