Ayanto, is our link with the oldest and most natural of our land, with the origin of the gastronomy of The Canary Islands.
Ayanto, word of origin guanche (ancient Aborigines that inhabited the Canary Islands), word that has lasted in time arriving to our days as synonym lunch or strong lunch of the noon day
The sun, the Earth and the sea.
The pintaderas were symbols used by the ancient inhabitants of The Canary Islands to mark the cattle, to mark the small grain silos, their houses and caves. Our pintaderas are the three key elements and indispensable for the life in the Canary islands: the SUN, the EARTH and the SEA.
The sun of the eternal spring of the lucky Islands, The Garden of the Hesperides, as they said in classical Greece; the best climate in the world, where vegetation develops in a different way, conserving and giving rise to unique species impossible to find in other regions of the planet.
The land; the Canaries are lava and volcano, mountains and beaches, a rich and fertile land where plants grow, mostly native, and truly extraordinary fruits.
The sea, the Atlantic that surrounds us, bathes our shores. Pure and crystalline waters from which we extract one of the best salts in the world for our products.
Who We Are:
Agustín and Antonio, two young Canaries, in love with The Canary Islands, its landscapes, its people and especially its gastronomy.
After finishing our studies at the University in La Laguna, the difficult situation we find in the Canary Islands, made us leave far from The Canary Islands, from the eternal spring and the smell of sea. Hard were the lunches, in which we missed the meals of our mothers and grandmothers, the guanchinches, chuletadas with friends and above all the not having a jar of good mojo to make us crumpled potatoes, accompany the meat or simply with a slice of bread…
After years of study and work we decided to start with this ambitious and beautiful project: Mojo Ayanto, a 100% artisan and natural mojo canary, with which to make known to the world one of the greatest treasures of Canary gastronomy, the Mojo Canary AYANTO.
