Conservas Ortiz
The best quality, thanks to the respect of tradition

At Conservas Ortiz we make our preserves artisanal and respecting the traditional fishing gear.

The result is appreciated in the exquisite taste and unmistakable texture of our products that make a difference.

The history of Conservas Ortiz dates back to the NINETEENTH century

In 1942, José Ortiz and his son, José Antonio Ortiz, created the limited company, becoming Conservas Ortiz SA in 1956.

At present, it is the fifth generation of the family that is at the head of the company.

Conservas Ortiz respects the tradition; respects the coast according to the tides and the exclusive purchase of bonito del norte fish with cane one by one.

Therefore, the care of the fish we use is distinctive of quality.

The production of high-quality preserves is manifested even in the care of their presentation “of all life”.

Anchovy, the star product

With the beginning of the 20th century, the Ortiz preserves begin to walk around the world. The janitors set their destination in Italy and in countries where there was Italian immigration such as the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

The star product was anchovy. The technique of salting ("alla vera carne") was brought by the Italians to the Cantabrian, as they knew that this was where they could find the best specimens. In this way, they could prepare the semiconserva and send it to Italy.

Conservas Ortiz respect the tradition

This proximity to the ports, combined with so many years of experience, has made it possible to create the culture that constitutes the essence and philosophy of this artisanal brand: always seek the best quality from the utmost respect to tradition to offer the consumer healthy and natural products that suit their tastes and preferences.
